Traditional Art
My background is sculpting the human form, especially the face which is by far the most difficult sculptural endeavour. It requires the highest sense of proportions, accuracy and total control of the tools relative to the behaviour of different clays. Here's a collection of some of my work.
For this piece, UK Parnassus magazine asked me to create my modern vision of the classical greek muse. They featured this sculpture in a 6 page interview.
120 kg of water based clay. The work was a balance between the physical block out, then the very fine sculpting of features and details. The larger than life scale made it challenging in terms of finding the right proportions.
