Clay _ Design R&D

This type of clays are oil and wax based, which allows for very smooth surfaces as seen in product and transportation design. This is by far the best way to develop extremely fine shape control. With these clays, forms that have an organic yet structured quality are possible. These skills can then be transfered to digital tools, if desired.

These shapes are what I live for.

Industrial Clays have the consistency of dark chocolate at room temperature. they must be warmed at around 60C  in order to get soft enough so I can build a shape with proper self-adhesion.

Once cooled down at 19C in my climate controlled room, the harder consistency allow me to use sharp tools to shave it (I usually make my own tools or modify exisitng ones). It's a very satisfying step. Sketch modeling.
