“It is in my DNA to be a multidimentional creator. Although sculpture is the most obvious facet, it is just a starting point”
Meet Seb Zar Bourcheix, a 31 year-old artist and creative expert, who uses his unique abilities in sculpture as a metaphor to inspire you to tap into your own creativity. Born and raised in France, Seb spent most of his life away from Art, until he discovered sculpture during a 3-day workshop in July 2005. This love at first sight experience was totally unexpected. Since then he never looked back and quickly grew his skills to become the widely acclaimed sculptor he is today.
Seb mixes his inspirations without taboo, an unusual trait for artists who base their work on the human representation using classical techniques. Eroticism and music, his most powerful inspirations, combine with various influences such as industrial shapes, abstract art, street art and movies, to shape everything he creates. “There is such value in variety, in looking for the new, the different, and making your own metissages”
“Sculpture teaches Universal laws that you can apply to anything, tasting new medias and embracing your multidimentionality allows you to integrate a palette of skills to serve you in any particular passion that you choose to follow. Don’t focus on a particular field, focus on the Universal aspects of it. Then you can achieve anything”
Seb already walks the talk as he mixes the classical mastery with highly stylized elements in his sculptures. It makes his signature even more unique. But his contribution isn’t limited to volumes in sculpture, rather exquisite creative experience. His taste for new creative adventures have led him to new horizons such as painting, acting, motorcycle racing, or creating video with the 79 sec clip he created and produced for a New York City event, back in May 2009.
“Although my journey will lead to various experiences, I’ll always come back to this amazing sensual dance that is sculpture; It is such a challenge”
” Ultimately, my aim is for people to look, hear, read and feel everything I create, then go back to their world empowered with the inspiration to create at their best, no matter what their passion is”.

Seb,
I understand this analogy. It is like when one is deep in thought and you are writing, your fingers move, you keep going, you loose track of space and time. When you are done, you realize you have composed a story, it was a dance with words. Yours is a dance with your clay. Your dance is in your medium of expression… someone else’s lives will dance to a different beat so to speak, a different pace perhaps, but yours is the same passionate one as with this surfer, Jamie O’brien. When you are finished though, unlike Jamie, you have something simply amazing to behold. Your dance has created something that will be here for our grandchildren to have the pleasure of seeing, touching, discovering. You create perhaps in the same way, the beauty of what you create will last forever.
Be safe & well,
Maxine
Thank you Maxine. Yes I believe we are all in this danse of the Universe. It’s just a matter of being in tune and flow. Best to you
Seb
Hello Seb,
I have to tell you that I am very new to your work. I am a “late-life college student” taking an art class that I thought of as simply a “required course.” My view of art has been irrevocably altered through this course and introductions to artists like yourself.
I will tell you that I am now a Seb Zar fan. I hope that this will mean something special to you, because in my life I have never bothered to write to someone I didn’t know personally. I have never described myself as anyone’s “fan.” However, in my exploration of your work, I have also read some of your postings to various sites and find that, to me, your philosophies are as admirable as your artwork.
Thank you for using your talent, to enrich our world.
Most Sincerely,
Sherry Golightly
Hi Sherry,
Thanks for your comment. Of course it means something to me, especially because my mission is to inspire people. So I’m happy that you feel inspired by my work.
As for philosophies, I believe it goes hand in hand with art.
Best to you
Seb
Congratulations! you are amazing! I love the mix between realism and comic style. I am a sculptress’ apprentice and that is exactly what I have been doing.
Seb,
Right on the money and a fine reminder.
It’s easy to acquire a limiting vocabulary from friends and family. On the other hand, I find it’s been equally important to me to bring together a personal dictionary of empowering words.
There’s so much power in either “I can” or “I can’t.” Thanks for calling it to our attention.
You’re welcome Ronnie.
Would love to see the personal dictionary of empowering words you came up with.
This little action of cutting out words may seem insignificant, but it truly is impactful on the mind.
Seb
Wow, Seb! I love this post and the new direction of your blog. This is wisdom and brilliance and the self talk and mindsets that we allow and choose to operate are the very thing that creates our actions and our results. Reality is creatable. What a great medium for an artist! The canvas of reality. Energy follows thought. What we think becomes real. This is the art of manifesting. This is the only real choice in life. Bravo!
Thank you Suzi. The beauty of this new direction is that it’s all about sharing, and oriented toward helping others with their own creativity.
I will always be the artist who explores the extreme of creativity, but now it’s not only for myself. It’s for all of us.
When you’ve built yourself at a certain level, it’s all natural to inspire people back and contribute to a large scale.
I think you’re on the same path.
Talk to you soon.
Seb
really, really beautiful works
congratulations!!!
There are so many beautiful things in the world which can not be described by words. So many explicit moments felt and memories which cannot be defined. I believe in what you are saying. Using words limits everything. But that is one way of expressing our thoughts and feelings. Anyway. in everthing you do always speak with your eyes. Its the window to your soul which speaketh from inside. God bless you……
I have it here Mr. Robert Scheinfeld’s “Busting Loose From The Money Game. I love reading his book.
Salut Seb,
As you said in your email… it’s funny what type of people you might run into at the train station in Saint-Emilion.
BTW, I’ve just checked out your site for the first time…. and WOW you’ve got some serious talent!
Cheers!
Seb-
I absolutely love the visual of the word removed from the dictionary.
Just like the Law of Gravity there are laws of mind, the one you are referring to in your blog is the Law of Concentrated Attention: it states that what you put your attention on repeatedly, spontaneously tends to realize itself.
Peace,
Valerie
Seb,
I teach art in an elementary school and I happened upon this while searching for artists at work to show my students. At the beginning of the year I try to motivate them with the possibilities that art can bring to their lives. I tell them that the words “I Can’t” are not allowed in my classroom. This year I am going to post a sign…and now I can tell them about you and how you have used this philosophy to be successful.
Thanks for sharing.
Leda
Seb-
My passion is hypnotherapy but lately due to the economy it just seems like something I’m selling to pay the bills…while I agree it is a business, it seems that excitement is hard to find amidst the marketing, financial and administrative details. Your site inspires me to create. While I’m not an artist I am considering creative dance as a means to connect. Thank you!
Wonderful
Of the imagination .. Wonderful
Nice blog but i’m having some minor problems with the design in Opera Browser, maybe i should change Browser!

Great article thank you for sharing!
This is yet another one of your sculptures that truly shows such vast range of creative genius Seb. A huge thumbs up!
I love that this sculpture elicits so much emotion from the viewer. That is in part what great art does – it moves people and makes them feel. Mission accomplished here!
Simply, the post is really the freshest on this noteworthy topic. I fit in with your conclusions and will thirstily look forward for your future updates. Saying thanks will not just be adequate, for the phenomenal lucidity as part of your writing. I’ll at once grab your rss feed to stay privy of any updates. Excellent work and a lot achievement inside your organization dealings!
Merci Jefferey, I appreciate. It’s been an amazing journey. I feel like Iv’e just started though, and look forward to make major contributions. Let’s inspire the world
Beautiful sculpture!! You truly know what you’re doing, a perfect balance between art and reality!! Congrats!
Merci, as you point out it takes experience to stay away from producing merely copies of what the eyes see. It’s entering a new dimension.
Outstanding.
Hi Seb:
In my experience, mentors do still exist, however (as you note) the relationships are finite. This is consistent with most teacher/student relationships. There comes a time when the relationship is outgrown. I have learned to embrace rather than resist the end.
Great works are invariably born of tremendous force or pressure; it must come from somewhere. Whether the impetus is within or encountered, it must be so. To understand magnificence, we must know its opposite. Not entirely fun, but we agree, absolutely worthwhile.
Cynthia
Thank you Seb. I’m touched. Warmest, Keith
It’s about damn time you embraced your gifts and all the world has to offer you! Big Hugs my friend to you and the sweet Charlaine.
Seb, I can see immediately that you are blessed with two major gifts:
1) great friends who are there for you and to support you
2) talent.
That is amazing, and you should definitely take advantage of this and use it to inspire others as well. Also, I couldn’t agree more with you that we must accept the best the life can give us and accept that we deserve it. All I can add is that I wish you to achieve your plans and dreams
Bonjour,
Cordialement
JP
Can’t wait to read more of your articles in the future. Congrats!.
Thanks. New body sculptures in preparation. Productive Summer.
Beautiful work! In fact, the color looks perfect for what you’ve done — and the lines give it a particularly intriguing look. I like it!
Merci Claudie. Lines are becoming more present in my work. Developping a personal style is a long process. Sometimes very frustrating, always interesting.
For the next one I’ll change the color.. experimenting all the time is key.
Bonjour JP,
Merci Seb,
A bientôt
JP
Congrats on the magazines! When you do the interviews, it’d be great to know if they are online somewhere.
As for your post, I think you’ve said it beautifully: genius is never forced.
There are many things (routines, rules, etc), that society and others often try to impose, but creativity couldn’t care less about those. It takes strong individuals to recognize that and to follow inspiration rather than to comply with the rest of the world.
Beautiful work! I think you’ve captured her distinctive gaze, and the eyes are such an important part of every creation. I also really like the feeling of movement there is in the hair. All of this really brings the sculpture to life.
Btw: get better soon!
Merci Claudie. As I’ve said on Twitter, at some point I had to step away from the piece because of the overwhelming feelings and emotions generated by the conection with Amy. It’s difficult to explain it with words…which is why I have to sculpt it
Back to it now. The sculpture is not where I want to bring it yet. From now on, each millimeter makes all the difference.
Seb
Merci Tami. Your support is always special
Thank you Claudie! Your drive to improve everyday never ceases to impress me. I also wish you the best, you deserve it and will go far in self discovery. I know it.
Keith, for some reason my answer to this post’s comments were not published and I’m noticing just now. But I can tell you that the energy of this story is still alive even a few months after. As you know I’m on an accelerating evolution path since Nice. Although I’m the origin of this, it certainly is an indication of the level of inspiration you can be in this World. I’ll be happy to add a touch of art to this journey of yours, as soon as my life reaches full blossoming. Very soon now. What a year! Merci.
