I understand this analogy. It is like when one is deep in thought and you are writing, your fingers move, you keep going, you loose track of space and time. When you are done, you realize you have composed a story, it was a dance with words. Yours is a dance with your clay. Your dance is in your medium of expression… someone else’s lives will dance to a different beat so to speak, a different pace perhaps, but yours is the same passionate one as with this surfer, Jamie O’brien. When you are finished though, unlike Jamie, you have something simply amazing to behold. Your dance has created something that will be here for our grandchildren to have the pleasure of seeing, touching, discovering. You create perhaps in the same way, the beauty of what you create will last forever.
Be safe & well,
Maxine

Hello Seb,
I have to tell you that I am very new to your work. I am a “late-life college student” taking an art class that I thought of as simply a “required course.” My view of art has been irrevocably altered through this course and introductions to artists like yourself.
I will tell you that I am now a Seb Zar fan. I hope that this will mean something special to you, because in my life I have never bothered to write to someone I didn’t know personally. I have never described myself as anyone’s “fan.” However, in my exploration of your work, I have also read some of your postings to various sites and find that, to me, your philosophies are as admirable as your artwork.
Thank you for using your talent, to enrich our world.
Most Sincerely,
Sherry Golightly

Hi Sherry,
Thanks for your comment. Of course it means something to me, especially because my mission is to inspire people. So I’m happy that you feel inspired by my work.
As for philosophies, I believe it goes hand in hand with art.
Best to you
Seb
Congratulations! you are amazing! I love the mix between realism and comic style. I am a sculptress’ apprentice and that is exactly what I have been doing.
It’s easy to acquire a limiting vocabulary from friends and family. On the other hand, I find it’s been equally important to me to bring together a personal dictionary of empowering words.
There’s so much power in either “I can” or “I can’t.” Thanks for calling it to our attention.

You’re welcome Ronnie.
Would love to see the personal dictionary of empowering words you came up with.
This little action of cutting out words may seem insignificant, but it truly is impactful on the mind.
Wow, Seb! I love this post and the new direction of your blog. This is wisdom and brilliance and the self talk and mindsets that we allow and choose to operate are the very thing that creates our actions and our results. Reality is creatable. What a great medium for an artist! The canvas of reality. Energy follows thought. What we think becomes real. This is the art of manifesting. This is the only real choice in life. Bravo!

Thank you Suzi. The beauty of this new direction is that it’s all about sharing, and oriented toward helping others with their own creativity.
I will always be the artist who explores the extreme of creativity, but now it’s not only for myself. It’s for all of us.
When you’ve built yourself at a certain level, it’s all natural to inspire people back and contribute to a large scale.
I think you’re on the same path.
Talk to you soon.
There are so many beautiful things in the world which can not be described by words. So many explicit moments felt and memories which cannot be defined. I believe in what you are saying. Using words limits everything. But that is one way of expressing our thoughts and feelings. Anyway. in everthing you do always speak with your eyes. Its the window to your soul which speaketh from inside. God bless you……

I have it here Mr. Robert Scheinfeld’s “Busting Loose From The Money Game. I love reading his book.

I absolutely love the visual of the word removed from the dictionary.
Just like the Law of Gravity there are laws of mind, the one you are referring to in your blog is the Law of Concentrated Attention: it states that what you put your attention on repeatedly, spontaneously tends to realize itself.
Peace,

Seb,
I teach art in an elementary school and I happened upon this while searching for artists at work to show my students. At the beginning of the year I try to motivate them with the possibilities that art can bring to their lives. I tell them that the words “I Can’t” are not allowed in my classroom. This year I am going to post a sign…and now I can tell them about you and how you have used this philosophy to be successful.

My passion is hypnotherapy but lately due to the economy it just seems like something I’m selling to pay the bills…while I agree it is a business, it seems that excitement is hard to find amidst the marketing, financial and administrative details. Your site inspires me to create. While I’m not an artist I am considering creative dance as a means to connect. Thank you!

Merci, as you point out it takes experience to stay away from producing merely copies of what the eyes see. It’s entering a new dimension.

Salut Seb,
As you said in your email… it’s funny what type of people you might run into at the train station in Saint-Emilion.
BTW, I’ve just checked out your site for the first time…. and WOW you’ve got some serious talent!
Cheers!
